First off, I apologize if this is not the correct forum to post this.

I was working with a friend tonight as he was setting up to do an auction. Part of the work involved attaching a fluorescent green sticky label on each inventory item. On the face the label has a blank spot for the auction number and a blank spot for the bid number. Also on the face is the auctioneer's name and phone number. The back of the label has a "split" protective back on it that, when peeled off, allows the label to be stuck onto the auction item.

After posting about 250 of these labels onto auction items, my mind started wandering and I got to wondering if there might be a good use for these tags in a mentalism effect. Maybe some kind of bank night routine or maybe using a nail writer, etc.

Anyone have any brainstorming ideas for these tags? They look like an item begging to be incorporated into an effect. (The bright green color, the two blank spots on the face and the sticky peel-off label all just seem to be an item waiting for an effect)

Thanks for any info or suggestions that might get me pointed in the right direction.

Mike,

A few questions:

1. How big are the labels?
2. Are they on roll, on sheets, or loose?
3. Would two stacked together look like one?

Not sure where to go with this, but you could do something with a gaffed label that consisted of a pre-written force on one label and a blank label affixed to the pre-written one with some removable paste/fixative. Then put the "blank" label on an envelope/card/object, along with several real blank ones on other objects. Then get one ahead (or one behind) and........??????

Last thought, since the labels already have auctioneer contact information on them, I guess I'd go down some path of "what are the prices for these objects?" in terms of the routine.

Hope you can find a use for them. I know what you mean about an item begging for an effect.

Regards,

Crippen,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your post. As for your questions:

1. The labels are approx 1 1/2 " x 2".
2. The labels are singles and the protective cover is extremely difficult to remove. There is no way that the label could be separated from its protective backing in any surreptitious manner.
3. Two labels stacked together would look like one but, see answer 2 above.

The only way I can see using these items is with a boon writer or a nxxx writer, etc.

Thaks for the reply post.
