Howdy,
This is my first post so I'm a little worried, but I'll try to jump into it. I've always thought that it would be funny to have a prop rabbit skeleton. I recently saw footage of Penn & Teller with one (might have been real though). Has anyone ever seen something like that? A fake rabbit skeleton? Thanks, Caleb, Click here to view attached image. |

As long as you don't show it to biology or zoology teachers, you can make one from papier mache and probably get away with it. It IS a funny idea. Good luck with it!

Well, I just saw one on the Fielding West DVD, and I am pretty sure Steve Spill used one.

I have in my collection a latex rubber one. I sadly do not know it's provenence, but it proves that they exist.

I've been asked to make 'em over the years but never got around to it. Can do though...be more of a comedic prop me thinks.

Great work! Welcome to a place where people understand why you'd WANT to make a prop out of rabbit bones...

I would definitely be in if someone/Doug could make one for a rabbit or even a dove that can be handled for a performance...

On my rabbit skeleton... I sent pics and we never connected to "get 'er done" (not your fault; mine fore being too ***ed busy performing)... Glad to hear you got the pictures... Sometimes I think I have done something only to find that I "meant" to do it... Be well... Andrew |

I have the same 'syndrome'. Like, I was sure I responded about the baby buggy pictures...
Problem with a rabbit skeleton is the ears...no bones! It's like when Ripley's wanted the head of Robert Ripley done and the only real identifyer of Ripley was his buck teeth...without them he looked like 'anybody'...but of course shrunken heads don't have teeth! So one done, would need be a comical characterture. Same with the Rabbit Skeleton, which in order to be identifiable would need to be semi mummified to retain the ears and there fore a bit horrific with shredded fur etc. Unless you wanted silly rabbit ear bones or maybe even 'rabbit ears' antenna on it's skull. However, I have an idea how it can be done so if anyone is truely interested just contact.

I think pulling a skeleton out of a cheesy top hat would speak for itself.
That's just what I think though. :) |

I used a regular stuffed kids rabbit and a human Halloween skeleton ( 14 inches or so). then I morphed them together with a few cuts and glue.
the head and feet are the stuffed part and the middle is a plastic sketeton. its looks good |
