Is it relyable enough or is it noisy and hard to use???

I have read reviews about this product before and it wasn't very good. I believe the complaint had to do with the pull breaking and noise.

I like to think that I have every "Ring Flight" version on the market (I'm sure I don't) - from the original Al Koran, through Ken Brooke's "Nemo Ring Flight, Gaeton Bloom's version etc etc. I love this effect!!
The version I use more than any other these days is "Rinky Dinky". YES, it is noisy but this can be overcome by moving the arm backwards to reduce the distance to the gimmick. I find that with the right presentation the noise is not noticed. In addition there are some plus's:- *You can buy an unfaked "rinkey dinkey". I have matching keyrings (bottle openers) on both the fake & unfaked which are both stuck in my belt covered by my vest. I use the ungimicked "Rinky Dinky" in other routines - as well as to open bottles! * The "hook" part is the best I have found on any version of "Ring Flight" it is also larger than others - this makes it easier to slip the ring on. For what worth, it's my opinion |

I hate it. If you perform in a suit like i do, forget it. You have to either anchor the keys to your pants or have about 100 keys on the key chain to keep it from flying our of your pocket. Plus it is noisy and the hook scratches the heck out of the ring. Save your money, but if you really want one, I'll sell you mine.

I had bought so many "ring flights" thatI lost count. My first was from Harry Stanley back in 1959 when his shop was on Frith Street which I used for many years till the reel broke, then I got one from Tannen's ect.
Rinky Dinky is the best bar none. They all make a little noise, it never bothered me at all. I made 3 changes on the gimmick. One is on the hook which works better, I replaced it with a small swivel hook which has a larger loop and opening to allows a large ring to enter. The other is where the hook hits the large key when you let go of the ring. I did it yesterday at a strolling gig. I do it without a jacket or vest. Anyone who has "rinky dinky" and needs help, just drop an email Richard Lyn The two worst "Ring flight" on the market are,the new Ultimate ring flight " weak reel and too bulky" Mak magic ring flight "dont even touch it" A friend of mine Got into trouble using the mak. My thread has come off the hook. The instructions say you have to use glue to secure this (although I'm not sure why it couldn't have come from the factory this way). Guess I didn't do it well enough and I haven't got around to fixing it yet.
I did have some success with it before it broke. You need to really have a lot of keys on this or keep it somewhere like your back pocket. If you don't have enough weight or tight enough pockets it will fly out! Graham |

if you have the rinkey dinkey you must do the following ,
Slip a small rubber tube (about half an inch) on the thread and place it at the hole where the thread comes out , the rubber tube absorb the shock when you pull the thread and snap it back. The reel will last long if a ruber tube is placed. |

Purchased it and sent it back for the following reasons:
1. Reel is not strong enough! I rehearsed in front of a mirror and saw the ring drop instead of it being pulled back out of sight. Thank god for the mirror or I never would have known the difference. Thanks to my wife, she also saw it flash! 2.It's slightly noisy! I've owned quite a number of "Ring Flights", the one I use and the best one on the market is "El Duco's" Expensive, but the best. "The Magic Warehouse" carry's it. Thoughts have wings, Gerry |

Ilost those request from a few readers who wanted help with "rinky dinky"
Please resend a email to me and I will get back to you. I'll try to locate the same hook that I use and mail them to all who one. I will explain about the brass name plate that I attached to the unit and how I use it with the presentation. Richard Lyn "Tricky Ricky" |

bought it, played with it, and sold it. It did not take long for me to realize that although this is a great idea it's not a great gimmick. Too many problems with the actual key itself, for one noise, and the anchoring issue.

I sold my rinkey dinkey 2 weeks after purchase. I believe I gave it a fair shot, but came to the conclusion it was a great concept that should be improved upon.just my measly 2 cents.

RinKey Dinkey version 2 is now on the market, would appreciate your comments on this new version. I see they now have online additional information, would like some information on this as well.

Piece of c**p that breaks in no time. My worst magic purchase ever, it wasn't cheap either.

I bought mine nine years ago and have used it 3 days out of the week 48 weeks of the year. It is still being used. About a year after they came out they got someone else to produce them and that is where most of the problems came from. I actually bought mine from what was then the worst on line magic company (Pete's Best Magic) but I actually did get one of the original runs and have been very pleased. I also kept getting my credit card charged by Pete but that's another story.
