"a false beginning so the effect on the TV viewer is tighter"
Well that can be open to abuse to the point of total fakery. Rewording it with a PR spin on it doesn't change things. But as I said, it seems that any amount of TV abuse is ok now as long as it gets the artist noticed. Gone are the days of integrity where what the audience at home saw was actually what someone there would have seen. I just think it's sad when an artist does it when he doesn't need to. Seems to be all about making trendy TV and not a lot about magic.

Thanks for the PM Shrubsole. It seems that 'full of stooges' was an overstatement then?

Why are you sounding like you do have a vested interest in discrediting anyone not singing the praises of TV fakery?
As I stated, I like Dynamo but feel that he is better than this set up, pre-arranged, stooged rubbish just to make trendy TV. As for stooge work I have already PMed you one, (just off the top of my head) how many is the acceptable mark?

I have no vested interest. I like him too.
I suspect it is not 'full of stooges' that is all and that is why I asked you to qualify the effects in last nights episode you believed to be stooged. You haven't PM'd me any. Anthony

Could you all please tell me what exactly you like about Dynamo, specifically with regards to his mentalism attempts? Just curious.

What I like about him is that he is a lad from a sh*tty background making his dreams come true.

Am I the only one who thinks he is terrible?
I call myself "Thomas Cooper" here because this stops the magic café appearing when people google my stage name.
Does anyone else find the term "Special User" to be a bit condescending? |

No Thomas, quite a few people have voiced that opinion.

The one and only thing I take out of this shaw is the fact that we have MAGIC on the TV with Penn and Teller, America got Talent and now Dinamo.Every little bit helps. All of us should enjoy the party because as a result we will (Hopefully) get more and better bookings. It is easy to seat back at home watching Dynamo doing his stuff and than criticise and pull him apart. If he is good or bad he is out there carrying the flag and bringing magic to millions of homes. This is our profession and running any magician down because we think we can do it better it is wrong! In fact at least when we are out being asked questions like "What do you think of Dynamo" "Can you do the trick he did?" we should take a deep breath and praise him. This way we will promote Magic a lot better than running our fellow magicians to the ground. And to finish this I want to ask you all a question: Have you ever met a magician that is not "The Best Magician in the world?" I haven't

I like him or have liked him up to this show. Now it's any old stooge work or TV arranged magic just for fanboys of that sort of new wave thing. Still, a new day and so that means a new well respected member jumping on the nit picking attack of other posters to discredit their views if they don't sure that view. Some things don't change. So no matter what is said, all we still have is a show full of stooges and pre-arranged stuff made out to be spontaneous. The lay people ain't buying it and neither are we. The new wave of magic/mentalism seem not to be how can I amaze people with my skills and instead be how can I use a TV camera to fake every set up to make me look cool! Magic really is being degraded to the lowest common denominator with these show and P&T.

(only on TV) There will come a point where we all do our show via video link and then we can all fake everything. All that practise we do, is now a complete waste of time.

Richard Branson was buying it... And was you talking about my post? Fanboy? I thought that was quite a reasonable reply.

I think this was a great moment for the host, and he conveyed that through his response, and when the timeline of when they had the box kicked in it was so overwhelming he had to play a song.
Dynamo's exit was a right move. If he stayed, it would have not forced the host to hold the air like he did, after all he would have just answered questions etc.. if he stayed. I didn't feel it was smug at aall, but rather ' I will let you enjoy this moment alone" Looks like to me he predicted not only the paper before it was printed, but one paper, and even the exact page the host would look at. the Article was a nice bit of business as well.. Congratulations to Dynamo and his team for a brilliant spot. Andrew Gerard
Well then...
