This smacks of hoax to me.

Totally believable to me. Don't forget the signature double sonic boom from the late, great space shuttle. When it re-entered the atmosphere to come in for a landing, it did not use any power... which means for most of the landing, the shuttle was, essentially, a supersonic glider.

If the artists rendition is an accurate portrayal of what it looks like though, it's a little fishy. That just doesn't look maneuverable to me. Of course, I'm neither a physicist nor an engineer so I could be wrong. Just 'feels' weird. I know, not a very scientific basis.

I've worked on a few DARPA projects, and written proposals for several more.
This sounds like the sort of thing they'd do. |

We shall see. But if it does turn out to be a hoax then somebody owes me a burger...

Odd. Something large, thin, and cheesy landed in my back yard last night. This would explain all the black helicopters that arrived shortly afterwards.
