I am doing a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation, and was asked to cause a Make-A-Wish child to appear on stage. Because I will have to time to rehearse with the kid, maybe 10 minutes, I was thinking of using a tip over trunk. What do you all think...any other ideas??? Also, I cannot for the life of me in any book find blueprints for a tip over trunk. Does anybody have them or know where I can find them...any help is GREATLY appreciated....time ticks. I REALLY THINK I WANT TO USE A TIP OVER TRUNK...

You can do basically the same thing using cardboard boxes, available from any local appliance store. I know, I did!
As far as blueprints, use your imagination. I'm sure that you already know the workings of the "Tip Over Trunk"! Cheers!

Maybe you can use the Folding 3 Screen Illusion. It would be easier to build than a Tip-Over Trunk. Basically a large version of the Temple Screens. Maybe add some graphics
"MAKE" on Panel one "A" on Panel two along with a fancy swirl/genni bottle or something to fill up the space "WISH" on Panel three This would be pretty cool as you can fold it around showing him not there while displaying the "Make A Wish" then unfold it showing a new graphic/saying. Hope this inspires something. Chance

I'm pretty sure there are plans for a tip over trunk in the book "The Great Illusions of Magic".

Great idea Wolf!
Another idea would be to make the (forget what it's called at the moment) double sided door.... You know, you open the back, walk around, open the front and it's empty, close them and person bursts through the paper covering. Simple to make, easy to perform, with minimal cueing for spectator and cheap! |
