I was curious if anyone has the email address for David.
I have a question for him in relation to his 'Mind's Eye' deck. I appreciate the help, D~ |

What's your question? I perform this all the time.

I saw him in sweden in the 90s and he had incredible effects to show us. Great magician.

Hi illucifer, I want to ask him if there is any way I can purchase one of these decks.

Ah, right. I spoke to David not too long ago about these and he was going to look for the manuscript. I think it's been a long time since he was actively selling these.
I'll PM you.

David Harkey was so far ahead of his time. His magic was simply amazing and entertaining. Simply Harkey (Hard Cover)was his main work and he published some smaller booklets. Unfortunately they are all out of print and hard to find! In Simply Harkey, one of the effects is you pull off your shoe and it shrinks to a baby shoe (stage effect) and you also learn how to "make a bookmark visibly migrate from the first to last page of a borrowed book"! I'm not familiar with his Mind's Eye Deck,' although I know Phil Goldstein (Max Maven) has a marketed effect by that name. Do any of you remember David marketing this effect or was it in one of his books?

Mell, I agree with your post completely. A brilliant mind.
Another of his works is 'Ah-Ha!'. This mans thinking is beautiful. I have yet to see a copy of 'simply Harkey' so I cannot comment, but would love to review this work if I ever do find one for less then $300.00, lol. I think the effect in question was marketed by itself some time ago, but has not been available for some time now. I will comment more soon. D~ |

David marketed 'The Mind's Eye' and sold it on his lecture tours back in the 90s.
He's also marketed several other gems over the years that your magic buddies are likely to never have seen or heard of: 'Point of No Return' was a brilliant piece using business cards and a large safety pin; 'The Hanger' was a stand-up/stage prop with many possibilities; 'Pocket Cache', a cleverly gimmicked money clip with which David provided some 9 or 10 routines, etc., etc. 'Simply Harkey' is one of the best kept secrets in magic, and 'AH-HA', his collaboration with Eric Anderson, has some wonderful material.
It's all in the reflexes.

Simply Harkey has some of the best close up pieces that I do. Tracking the book was difficult but was worth it. I actually ordered it from Harkey himself, who seemed to have a few copies, that was 4 years ago.
