Maskelyn says to make things easy for your audience, so don't ask them to make too many decisions, for example, "Do you want to change your mind or are you happy with the mind you've got?"

Another demonstration that thinking is real thing, a task that requires both time and energy.

There are other considerations also....Let's say you are working on a new act. When would be the 'best' time to make crucial decisions about what to put in or leave out? What music to use? And, on and on. The article suggests that those decisions should be make early in the day, not JUST in a 'working' session, but in the day itself. Once those decisions have been made you have the rest of the day to practice, etc.
The next layer as I see it: Watch video of practice or rehearsal EARLY the next day. First thing really. Make the decisions of possible 'change' or 'upgrade', etc. with as much emotional/decision capital as possible. Work with those changes and then the next day when you are fresh.....do your analysis, further change, etc. The data in the article suggests that you could make far more rapid gains than working tired, etc. There are some other REALLY, REALLY important conclusions that can be drawn....do you see them? Best,
