This is gong to sound like a strange question but I have to ask. I'm this close to picking one up.
I just had one of my current mats destroyed by coffee. I was wondering if due to the nature of the mat, will I have any issues doing the 3 shell game. Would be really upset if my shells won't slide across the mat. I know neoprene has a slight tacky feeling to it. Also I read somewhere that shuffling was kind of a pain because of the same reason. Just need to know if it has enough "glide" to it. My ex favorite mat that was just destroyed had a great silky smooth feel to it. Does Mr. Duffy's mats have a texture to them or are they smooth? One more question, what about the thickness? Any issues with it being to thin? |

Hi Bobby,
I have the Trevor Duffy Close Up Mat.In answer to your questions,it does have a slight texture to it,but I have Vernet Shells and they seem to slide quite well over this surface, although I rarely use them, I'm more into cards. But is a great quality and is plenty thick enough 1/4" or 6mm. I did notice my shells have a couple of rough areas which caused them to catch a little, but overall I think you would be pleased with the result. Hope that helps? |
