The book is Sawa's Library of Magic Volume 1 by Richard Kaufman copyrighted in 1988. Unfortunately Volumes 2 and 3 of the promised trilogy were never published. Too bad, Sawa is a clever guy.

Thank you for the advice on Sawa. I would be quite surprised if idea hasn't been explored before though. Magic that happens to a spectator using what is essentially a classic plot...could do with Dan Watkins or Curtis for some input...they are usually a mine of information
Thank you for the other tips in the mean time, i shall keep you informed if I come up with anything. Regards Chris |

I have the Sawa book mention above but there is no routine by that name? Does anyone know what page it's on?

Magico, you're right. I checked the book tonight and read through the coin routines and didn't find any "bad tailor" routine. I also looked in Kaufman's "New Magic Of Japan 1988" with no luck. It did contain one effect by Sawa in it but it wasn't "bad tailor". Maybe Randy saw it in Genii. "Bad tailor" does sound like a line Sawa would use though.

Mitch. You are right. I also checked New Magic of Japan and could not find it.
I already do the coins thru silk. I was working on the coins thru the pocket as well for the times I do not have the silk. I just wanted to review the Sawa routine. Can anyone confirm where the routine can be found? |
