I received the latest supplement to Elliott Jay Bresler's Switchcraft Sunday night. I did not have to pay for the supplement because I bought my copy of Switchcraft two or three years ago, so it was almost like getting it for free, but I did make an initial investment. (And unlike the stock market, Switchcraft continues to pay dividends.)
I did not have time to check it out until now. If anyone has been hoping to try to perform a Chan Canasta-like book test, then the supplement contains an interesting book test you might want to consider. In some ways it might appear to be as "clean" as the Canasta book test when you read it, but the directness and probability have me intrigued. The effect is Chiber from David Numen presented in Elliott's compendium of billet work; the name is derived from Chan Canasta and Annemann's Test of the Tiber. I think you will want to give this effect a peek. I developed my own three-phase book test that runs about 10 minutes. I have Max Maven's Autome at the ready with Chronicles of Narnia books. And, David Hoy's Bold Book Test is always on standby. However, I am really intrigued with this Chiber book test. I appreciate the generosity of both of these gentlemen: Numen for being willing to share this incredible effect, and Bresler for continuing to present free supplements, despite so many of us telling him to start working on Vol. 2 and sell it separately. For the two of you on these boards who do not yet own Switchcraft, here is the link: https://sites.google.com/site/ebswitch/home Thanks again, Bobby P.S. Many thanks for your kind comments Bobby. The effect has been in my "Sentir Tear" book but seems to have flown under the radar. I'm delighted Elliott thought highly enough of it to include it in the latest Switchcraft supplement and further delighted that it's had good feedback.

David,
I second Tony's motion. Utterly brilliant. Again, thanks for sharing this. Wished I would have realized it sooner. Bobby

I had actually forgotten about this, but it is excellent. The peek is so well justified that the result really is quite inexplicable.
