What I like about evolutionary theories is that they all seem to start off with "Prior theories have held...." so that you know this present theory, in a few years time, will also be debunked.

Point taken. I think the issue I was really alluding to here is that when it comes to evolution so many people do not see it's different possibilties as theory but as fact.

Also, when similar happens with quantum theory, and sub atomic study, people still hold onto "matter" and "existence" as "facts."

Glenn there is a HUGE difference betwen gravity and evolution. I see what you are trying to say, but it does not hold.

"Evolution" is observable under a microscope. It happens and we can see it happen. Go to a microbiology professor at your local university and ask them to show you. Hopefully they will have the time and inclination to do so. Exactly how it happens is the theory that is being researched and revised.

Critter is exactly right. There is a difference between the fact of evolution, which is accepted by virtually all biological scientists as it is an observable phenomenon, and theories of evolution, which focus on the "how" of it.
Further, in science the word "theory" does not mean the same thing as it does in common discourse. |

If its an observable phenomenon and not all but only virtually all biological scientists agree on the outcome, then isn't it dependent of the observer and as such a matter of opinion and not fact?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I have no problem with evolution. I ain't religious. I have a problem with science, however, and am arrogant enough to laugh at scientists every chance I get. The dudes (and dudesses) are on tracks. Tracks always lead somewhere. The gift (which I don't have, but recognize) is to leave the tracks.
But I'm goofy right now. So don't listen to me. Or do. Leave the tracks. Dunno what that has to do with magic, but this isn't the magic part of the magic Café. Still: leave the tracks. |

With pardons to NVMS, the first rule of magic is "leave no tracks."
