I'm driving down the Henry Hudson parkway in manhattan yesterday when I get behind a hybrid station wagon. I notice that the license plate just has the number 1 on it, nothing else. I starting thinking: how do you get a license plate with just the number 1 on it? I drive a little closer: it is a CT plate with the words US Senate below it:.
I pass the car and look in, and it's Joe Lieberman driving himself into the city. Wonder if he has to pass the plate on to someone else if he loses in the Senate? |

He can't lose. He's retiring.
He might keep the plates too. Since former Senators have many perks, including having access to the floor of the Senate even when they are out of office.

They may get a bed. They do get to keep their chair after all.
