I hate to re-post, but we all have to remember that this show is part information and part entertainment. This may explain the snarkyness. Quite frankly without all the comedy by-play many of us would not tune in! In a nutshell, what they said about the Nut Waltz is, "It is an elegant routine with quality props that you will want to practice, but it has no final load and you probably not perform it that often." So if you book a lot of parlor shows or perform behind a bar, buy this quality elegant product and if not, let it go already... |

It's not just us here Equivoque, which literally means "Mistake" in spanish.
You are mistaken as well. Go and read the youtube comments, 9 out of 10 Doctors agree that they were wrong as to final loads and the handling. Most of the youtube posters also agree that penn and petty clearly missed the mark. I will repeat Penn y Petty are The Beavis and Butthead of magic at the moment. Once again Randi Rain, showed you that you can chose any final load. In fact a final load can be even larger than anything you would fit under a cup. Did you even watch her video? |

For the record, I am not saying that you cannot use a final load, I was summarizing the review. Craig was practically gushing over this effect and how much he wanted to practice it. He gave it a bad rating based on the performance limitations. While it shocked me, I see his point. Look it is a lovely effect, that was not my point at all. If I had an opportunity to perform it, I would buy it (but not use a final load). Yes, I saw Randi's video and it made me laugh. OK, so they are snarky, but they provide an entertaining and valuable service. In this case, anyone who likes the effect is not going to be dissuaded. |

Ok... I think there are many angles and nuances to everything...
Equivoque, the effect with the glass is elegant and amazing... of course! What is not, is bringing out a gas wielding torch in video...lol. Regarding Nut Waltz, I understand that if you love the trick but you don't have a place to perform it, it goes right to the drawer. No problem with that. peace then and have fun |

Then I guess everything you reviewed and lets say liked over ( say 50% then you must perform those ) That would be a lot of tricks you do in a act. Ya right. |

He said he loved it but will never perform it so he gave it a 0%. So what he is saying that if he gives a good review like 80% or 90% he would use it. Thay review at least 3 three things a week. So based on that if he wont use something he will give it 0%. I don't use chop. but I like it. So if I would to give that a review I should give it a 0% because I don't want to use it. I would not be a very good reviewer then would I.

That is a good point. Their review system isn't exactly the most logical in the world.
But I've always felt that the numbers at the end are just a bit of hyperbolic fun, they explain all the pros and cons in the video's. The numbers at the end really just give you one of 3 options --> buy it because its great, buy it if you like it, don't buy it because you won't use it |

Craig and Dave discussed in the review that they couldn't think of where this effect would be used by any magician. He was backing this up by saying he wouldn't use it even though he loved it. But I would to bet a lot of the people that watch there reviews go off what they give. % wise. I understand what you guys are saying. I don't go off of the % as well. I don't watch as much as I use to because there show became to ( well let me say ) ( dumb ) I get all my reviews from the Café, from the real workers.

Shinag -
DP: "Would you use it....?" CP: "...No.." Shinag gets 75%, much higher than Nut Waltz. This makes no sense.... However, as others have noted, the show is ENTERTAINING! I value the reviews, but would not follow them blindly... Most viewers would surely apply their own perspective to the reviews and scores. I would much rather keep watching the show knowing that I wouldn't agree with every review. |

Digital Dissolve seems worth it for the gimmick alone.

Please read another review, where Penn and Petty's antics are mentioned.
They didn't seem very "professional" on this dvd release. click |
