Specialty Hardware
Over the years I noticed more and more builders looking for specialty hardware, the type of hardware that is not sold generally sold by the big box store like Home Depot and Lowe's here in the US. So here are a couple of links to some great hardware sources. Some of the older builders will probable hate me for telling you this stuff. So here is only a couple of places to look when needing specialty hardware; Hafele http://www.hafele.com/us/ If it has to do with cabinet hardware these guys have tons of stuff. The printed catalog is huge and weighs about 20 pounds. I still have mine from a few years back. Now its available as download. At times Hafele will seem a bit expensive but then again where else are you going to find it. A few years ago I needed a part that was pricey, so I spent hours searching for an alternative only to find out that this place was about a dollar less or more than ordering it from the other side of the world before freight. Now I not saying, 'don't have a look around'. Not saying that at all. I am saying that sometimes it's a lot easier to find the thing when you know what its actually called. Since this place has just about everything when it comes to cabinet hardware a little time spent going through the catalog can save one many hours of work that could be spent on the item your building. Ohio Travel Bag http://www.ohiotravelbag.com/ I not even going to tell you how useful this place can be. I just going to tell you that it is the place to go for somethings such as packing case handles and other things. Just pointing the way to this place. Also you may need to be a manufacture to buy from here. Hope this quick post helps a few of you out there find what your looking for. If anyone knows of some other places that you have found the hard to find please share. |

Thanks! This would have come in handy for me a few months back. I'm sure I will be needing something again somewhere down the line.
