This has just been put out by the Magic shop - the link to it is;
http://www.magicshop.co.uk/product_info.......id=21182 Candyman by The Enchantment A fully loaded montage of misdirection, magic, and surprises self-contained and ready for a multitude of performances. The Enchantment brings you Candyman; an innocent pack of candy or gum that holds numerous eye-popping tricks, routines, and performance sets. This isn't a one trick DVD or a 2-3 phase routine. Candyman holds more than 15 routining phases. Each phase contains one to three effects. What this does is it allows you to use the sequences provided, or pull together phases and assemble targeted routine sets for your specific audience and situation; such as a quick set, easy set, VIP set, large group set, children's set, repeat performance set, etc. Or if you like, you can utilize individual phases or effects and perform them as stand alone tricks. With Candyman you are ready for anything. Taken the plunge anyone? |

I was immediately put off by the opening part of the demo clip, where the performer was pulling gum off a shoe - then he used a chewed bit of gum... yuk!
I expect the rest of the moves / effects may be good, but I'll wait to see other reviews first. Charlie |

Hey folks... I have Jay Sankey's Wrap it Up, I'm not fishing here but I'm trying to find out if I'm better off sticking with the Sankey effect or not. The two effects look similar... I may be way off here, so if I am please know I mean no disrespect... Anyone have some input on the reset, angles, practicality of walk around at weddings, etc… There is always candy at weddings I perform at, and most restaurants. A review would be awesome.. PM me if anyone would rather...
Thanks... Roman MagicRoman.com |

The magic shop said it is nothing like Wrap it up with nothing attached to your person and no sleeves or jacket needed like Wrap it up. Said the gum routine makes up a small part of the whole thing but gum or candy like starbursts with a wrapper are used most. The gum thing doesn't require a reset but the others you prepare the pack of candy in advance and then can do 5-6 times without reset.

Hey Mikeal,
Thanks for the input on this... I've some ideas how this may fit into my routines... I'm still on the edge of getting this. I like the idea of "5-6 times without a reset." Starburst may work well for me as I have some effects with candy in my mix already. How are the angles? Thanks again for any, and all reviews on this effect. So are you left clean enough to move "directly" into another effect? Again not fishing here, so if the answer to my next question is too revealing please don't respond on the public forum (and if you feel like you can PM without over exposing that's cool too.) Is the T--b-c-- H-ldo-t appropriate for any clean up that might be necessary? The price is very nice from what I've seen thus far. Roman MagicRoman.com |

I highly recommend this.
To your questions, there is no problem going into your next effect. I think everything ends clean with it. You won’t need a holdhout or anything else. He does a very nice vanish in one of the phases, but if you wanted to you could use a t.t. instead. But as it is, you carry the pack of candy and that is ALL you carry. Everything is done out of the pack of candy. He does a routine called full of flavor where he uses skittles, but this routine can be done with about any candy including starbursts. In the candyman segment he does a series of performances and then goes over the phases, and then goes over more phases in what is called candyman jam. I would guess most magicians will just do the routines he did, they are really good. But you are encouraged to make up your own “routine sets” from the phases. Like a routine you do when you have a large group, and a different routine you do for repeat performances, and a different routine you do for kids, and so on. Or just make it up as you go. The demo shows very little of what is on the dvd. There are enough phases in this you could probably perform 4 or 5 different multiphase routines for the same person and every one of them would be different. If you like being fooled, there is a good chance you will be at one point or another. I don’t want to go into detail and give away what happens so you can see it for yourself, but I was fooled like a layman several times. There are touches from Paul Harris who apparently helped name Candyman and you get a real Paul Harris, Tommy Wonder vibe from the magic. One con is a few of the moves on this require practice, nothing knuckle busting, but not something a beginner will do out of the box. But there are also a lot of self working effects and a lot for a newbie to start performing right away. Another con and maybe it is minor is he does a number of live performances, but 2 of them he basically performs the same routine but just for different audiences. I would have liked to see him do another routine set instead of the same routine twice. But it is still fun to watch and see how it plays on different people. I am very pleased with this and highly recommend it. It is a worker, it is very practical, it is a perfect thing for a hobbyist to carry around in his pocket, the price is very low, and the magic is very very good. I think you will want to perform this. |
