At least several thousand...
Hideo Kato say on MCF that Tenyo don't re-edited a trick under an order of 1000. only for A re-edition... The external creator of the compagnie can gain 1/2/3/4/5000 $ for their creation based on sales. |

I believe Tenyo to be much farther reaching than many of us believe. If we consider the small die hard audience on TMC, it wouldn't make much sense to craft a massive book about Tenyo magic and try to sell it. However, if we consider the average magician, I can say with confidence that many got their start with Tenyo tricks or at least fondly remember them from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 10s. If we consider production of all tricks throughout the world, there are plenty who be interested in an illustrated history book about Tenyo. Ideally, a collector's book would be best, documenting variations, production runs, and all known
history about each trick. Tenyo could make the book or contribute their many development notes to a book. Tenyo magic as a collector's item alone warrants an exhaustive study on the subject. The tricks are numbered and cataloged, produced in a series, not unlike baseball cards or comic books. While certainly not as culturally pervasive as baseball cards or comics due to a much smaller interest in magic, such a book should still be done. I hope Tenyo or Richard takes this on. |

Are you willing to put up the $30,000 it's going to take to publish this book? (That's not including my fee for spending 6 months researching and writing it.)

I believe you could make money on such an effort, but I don't know the publishing industry nor its margins. You have made it clear why you did not do a book in the past, I'm just asking you to reconsider. Tom |
