Hi everyone,
I am proud to announce that I have come up with a mentalism demonstration that, to the best of my knowledge, no one has ever attempted before. I have decided to call this effect: Jeopardy Genius. This effect is sure to leave your audience completely amazed! The Effect: The mentalist is at someone's home attending, let's say, a dinner party. The quiz show 'Jeopardy!' with host Alex Trebek happens to be on TV that evening. The mentalist is happy to inform everyone that he has recently just finished reading the entire Encyclopedia Brittanica and that, through very intense concentration, over the past few months, he has managed to absorb all of its contents, and can recall everything he has learned! To prove this, the mentalist switches on the television set, and begins to play along with the 'Jeopardy!' show. To everyone's amazement, the mentalist is able to come up with the correct response for every trivia clue presented, and can call out the responses faster than any of the contestants. The people at the party are stunned, and the mentalist has shown that, without a doubt, he truly is a Jeopardy genius! I hope you like this effect! I would love to hear any comments and opinions you may have. If you are interested in the method, just email me at granterg1@hotmail.com Thanks, granterg P.S. Similar effects can be produced, using techniques and principles employed in my method, for other television quiz shows and game shows, such as Wheel of Fortune, etc. |

I saw Bill Murray do this effect on "Groundhog Day". Very convincing, but where can I find one of those clock radios?

He will truly be a Jeopardy genius, but not really a mentalist.

Thanks everyone for your interest in this effect.
I have been receiving a ton of emails from you asking for my methodology. Please be patient as I hope to email the method to you at some point this week! In the mean time, please feel free to continue posting your comments here on the forum on what you think about Jeopardy Genius. Thanks again, granterg |

I'm guessing it has to be an old episode?

That’s very cool. From what I’ve read and seen in “off stage” clips, he seems like a genuinely nice (and “real”) guy. A few of those still left.

He was interviewed on Irish TV a number of years ago & I agree with DW - He seemed like a very nice guy. In fact, he made a point of giving advice to some up & coming comedians on the night, one of them went on to have a successful career & often mentions Murray's kindness after the show.
Great to know that some people's ego can be kept in check & they don't forget their roots.
Tá sé ach cleas má dhéanann tú sé cuma mhaith ar cheann.
