Hi Guys,
From the creative mind of Jef "Kandu" Eaton comes another product called "Kandu's IWand"!. Perfect for kidshow entertainer like me who usually incorporate lot's of audience participation. It's 2 wands for the price of one and the quality as like all of Kandu's products are of high quality. I was lucky that Jef send me a prototype all the way to the Philippines for me to try... At first I was a bit hesitant to use it as some kids might think it's a bit conry... But to my surprise, it was a hit not only to the kids by also to the adult audience as well... Now it's available via Kanu's website. Kindly check out the link below about this wonderful gag prop... http://kandumagic.com/products.htm Best Regards, Chubster |

I took a look at the link and I had to think of where I had seen this before...and then it came to me. Tommy James used an eyeball on a wand during his performance that won him 2010 Kidabra Family Performer of the Year. Jef has added the nesting wand with the letter "I" but the basic idea is from Tommy's super creative mind. I wonder if Jef asked Tommy's permission to make it and if he did, why isn't he crediting Tommy with the idea?

I have never seen Tommy James perform although we have talked about some ideas on the phone. I would certainly credit him for the idea if I had known. I will have to talk to him regarding the matter.

There is also the "periscope" style prop with a moving eye, which Ken Scott released several years ago......quite similar to a magic wand, but not actually a wand. It was called the "Doty Scope", and there is a thread about it here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=17
I use mine all the time, before the show starts, the kids see a periscope with a big eye appear above my backdrop....great bit of business. Doug |

Jef and I just spoke via e mail. I received many e mails and PM's about my I wand idea last year. A lot of people asked me if I minded if they add it to their shows and I told people to go ahead. I remember giving Ref Mike here on the Café' permission to make them and sell them but I don't think he ever got it off the ground. I never had any intention of marketing them and that is why I posted the original thread. I also felt people would not buy them, as I felt they would most likey just make one.
Jeff has added in the nesting effect with the letter I with it. (Nice addition Jeff) and I hope he does well with them. It is nice to see I have people covering my back here. Thanks Harv! Donald, please use "creative minds" loosely with me I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Tommy

Well, who would have thought? I never saw the thread regarding Tommy's idea. We spoke via email and we both conceded that ideas come to more than one person at a time. I certainly never planned to use an idea that someone else thought of. I was acting on an idea that I thought of independently and had some nice gags included with it.
My wand has a google eye that moves if you shake it but also turns to look at you utilizing the gimmicked "I" wand. At the end of my routine both you and your helper have "I" and "eye" wands with some very corny lines that play well with the routine. Tommy doesn't have any problem with me manufacturing my version of the "iWand" so my apologies to him and all his backers for producing what you may think is a rip off of an idea, while in fact it was thought of independently. If Tommy had it on the market, I would certainly discontinue making my trick. I respect your opinions and I hope you would back me up if you think someone was ripping off my Comedy Carton or Knot Funny. Hoping you all have a joyous Holiday as I will, spending time with my first grandson Lucas. Regards, Jef
