While I did help a little in producing the ebook, I have to say that I've seen Tony perform his routine on a number of occasions and it always plays very well!!

Randi mentioned to me a dvd known as Geek Magic. Any comments about it?

I haven't looked at it in years. It does explain the balloon swallow, and a couple of what I suppose could be called gross magic tricks. I think it was quite good. But most of it was magic rather than real stuff. Todd Robbins did a good video on the real carny stuff a number of years ago. That would be well worth checking out.

An expanded version of the Magic Uncorked ebook is now out. Those of you who ordered the original will get the new one over the next few days. Anyone else still has a chance. 130 pages of good solid stuff.

Remember that the balloon swallow is an illusion. The balloon is not really being swallowed...*grin* not even just a little. Its a great illusion and extremely simple to perform. The hardest part to me was not letting on to the audience my clean up to go into the next routine.

Oscar Munoz covers this in his new DVD in full detail from what I hear.

It is covered in a few places. Deeper by Justin Meitz is probably the best. Fielding West covers it in a DVD. It is in my DVD Pocket Full of Magic and my book Teach Yourself Easy Magic Tricks. My all time favourite trick. I do it for both adults and kids and they always talk about it afterwards.

This is an impromptu performance at 17,000 feet, just short of Everest base camp in Nepal. I claim it as a record for the highest altitude balloon swallow. Unless someone can beat it b

Well done Tony. I may have another record, not swallowing a 260, but blowing one up at 30 metres underwater when I did my scuba diving course in Malta.
Air expands is you head towards the surface (which is why you always keep breathing out when ascending, otherwise your lungs will burst), so I blew the balloon up to almost a third, tied it. At first it tried to go straight up, but when I let it go, it turned horizontal and zig-zagged its way to the surface, with the air expanding on each zig and zag. By the time it reached the surface it was fully inflated. So the Irish hold records for doing strange things with balloons. |

I finally got a clip of me eating a balloon at a kids show. It is one of my favourite routines still: http://youtu.be/zUyETU13FMI
