Hiya Gang!
Man, I haven't posted in this section of the Café for ages!!! I forgot how knowledgeable everyone is over here. Awesome! If you've got a second, I'd love to hear your thoughts about my latest creation... _________________________________________ The Vault _________________________________________ Thanks! ~jamie http://www.SendWonder.com

So apart from plugging your own merchandise, talking about your own effects or being extremely gracious and forever thanking people that mention your releases (thus keeping threads relevant to your products forever active) do you actually use The Café these days for any other purpose?
I'm not being argumentative Jamie; I'm merely stating things as I see it.

Bal - He has a regular periodical further down the home page list: "Magic Friday by Jamie D Grant" - which is worth a read. (Some of the desriptions of (well-known) effects offer some added zest to mine from time to time.)
As for this - just what we need - another card gaurd! Looks nice but not for me. My 'grail' is one that is closed on all sides. A box if you like, with a hinge or something - and the perfect size for a poker deck inside. Now I'm intrigued, once more, about Industrial Revelation - off to have a gander... |

I did check that out before Rog to be honest but the section has been pretty inactive for months.
As for the card guard issue - well with it's sale I wish Jamie every success. That said, it is at the end of the day, just a metal card guard; something that's been around for donkey's years (and most that I've seen in the UK have been a darn sight bloody cheaper than this one!).

Hiya Barry!
Thanks for keeping me on my toes, lol, that's awesome! I guess I'll also take this as an opportunity (did I spell that right? I always mess up on that one, lol) to showcase some of my past work on the Café- hurrah! Magic Friday (started in 2006- I'm getting old) and still going. It's true that I've taken a few months off- surely everyone deserves a break, no?) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewf......=175&147 A series of Essays geared toward the Walk Around performer/Worker. (it's links to a different site to read but we can still provide the info here - and discuss- fun!) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......rum=5&26 The February 2011 entrée: Jamie D. Grant (I tried to be an open book here- it was a awesome time!) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewf......=293&114 The Send Wonder Campaign (this can be a bit confusing as I've done a couple of others since - I've given away almost 500 AIP bottles at random!- so there's a few more recent threads) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=218 Industrial Revelation Giveaway (we gave away 3 IR's this holidays to peopkle who wrote in on behalf of their friends. It made our Christmas to ba able to help in a very small way) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=218 Oh, and I'm a paid advertiser on the Café! My banner is on the top of the Magic Friday section. I hope that gives some insight. I also only have 4 (I think?) threads going about my products- which isn't too bad, I hope! _______________________________________________ As for the Vault, thanks for the well wishes! The fact that other's have been around for Donkey's years is exactly why I designed it- you're 100% right! I think that's about it! Thanks for reading everyone~ My best, jamie

I got to say Barry, that I think Jamie has more than paid his dues to the Café. I do get your point (and I like your 'no BS' approach), but Jamie is not a one post wonder who then plugs away.
I have spent several hours reading Jamie's posts, blogs and magic fridays. So for me, Jamie's got a good line of credit. ...Although I'm not Steve Brooks... so my opinion doesn't count for much! Charlie PS - Have you tried IR yet? I've worked a few places in Essex (including Canvey!) and reckon it might play well! |

Not for one moment doubting Jamie's pedigree - just that over the past month or so he has spent a lot of time promoting IR (which I've already put my hands up and admitted it must be a good trick as I haven't read one bad piece of feedback. That said, it wouldn't fit in with my type of character).
However, what I didn't take into account is that Jamie contributes financially to the Café via advertising (which to be honest I never really notice). To this end, we all owe Jamie (and other advertisers) a debt of gratitude. Moreover, they clearly have more right to offer their wares than many others on here. I offer my apologies to Jamie - in the same way I did about my comments on I.R. I just hope Jamie never visits England - I'll be buying him drinks all night!
