Ok, I know some really good tricks and have done street magic etc, and have reached a level of proffesionalism, here I ask for advice on kids show magic, what routines do you choose and why. I really love rope magic ans have developed a 10 minute routine with 3 pieces of rope, any advice on other tricks that you are fond of? -to be performed for KIDS from 6 - 11

This question gets asked often. Here's a link to a thread that offers some tips on the best tricks: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=17&51
I'd recommend that you read through lots of old posts, and glean wisdom from these. Also, as you develop specific questions, then you can use the search function of the Café to find answers. Best wishes. |

Too bad this question wasn't asked during last week when David Kaye (Silly Billy) was the guest on the Café. He's one of the best kids entertainers out there! That said, you might look at the Seriously Silly DVD that he puts out. He's got some great and inexpensive stuff there that makes the kids howl! You can still review all the posts that were made and you might glean some things by looking them over.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

If your looking for any real effects that work check out and buy everything Tommy James makes his stuff is great!
I would attempt to work at 2-3 table hopping gigs where kids eat with families and make sure you hand out coloring pages to every kid. This is a fast economical route to start working birthday parties. |

Thanks for all the replies!
In one of my table hoppings I performed Jeff HObson's balloon dog bag routine and the table cracked up and asked if I did kids parties, so I would strongly recommend that trick |
