While Tenyo offers good quality we all know sometimes, as with most magic tricks, something breaks or becomes unusuable. I think it’s interesting to know what tricks by Tenyo (including the discontinued ones) you think a spare one (or more) is needed because they are very good but … will break/become unusuable after, often, using them … .
Here’s my list – and I’m trying not to reveal any secrets but it’s hard sometimes Billscape – Most of you know this is my all time favourite. However, the plastic plates become scratched. Not that this is such a big problem, but nonetheless … . Perhaps glass plates can replace these plastic ones, but I wouldn’t know where or how to make them (they have to be very precise thickness). Also the plastic ‘holder’ will bend (mine does, I perform it a lot) making the trick harder to do. Crystal Cleaver – The s****g will wear out and the tiny inner mechanics can brake, at least that’s what I think. Prison Box – The two ‘bendable’ part(s) can brake off (I’ve had this done by a spectator examining it!). Mystery China Box – it uses a hidden s****g and this will eventually become worn out. Also the part that ‘locks’ it so it is inspectable will wear out. Electronic tricks (the good ones ) like Third Eye and Ghost Lamp. I think the lights are LED’s and they are very durable, but I like these tricks and if they become discontinued and I needed one I won’t like it to pay 100 – 200 USD (if Tenyo disconinues these they will be worth a lot I think). Ultimate Shocking Pen – The ‘thing’ that makes it examinable can brake if you tighten it too much, trust me Tricks that require replacements like Fortune Donut and Scratch Card. Mystery Triangle – After ‘heavy use’ the gimmick will move, even in ‘locked’ position, so it can not be inspected anymore. Ultra Tube – Nicolino told me a a few years ago the gimmick can brake off. Card Changer – I don’t know why, but the gimmick looks fragile to me … . Mirage – The gimmick can brake (I think Richard Kaufman mentioned this). Tricky Business & Midas Machine (Tricky Business is better in my opinion, it’s an improved version of Midas Machine as, I think, Cormatches once said) – I once bought a used one of both and they didn’t work at all. Crossroad – Very fragile gimmick as Angelo Carbone once mentioned. Frame Of Destruction – The plastic ‘thing’ on the envelope will wear out, but it comes with replacement envelopes if I recall correctly … . The Sandwich Platter – the ink on the cards wears off when stored wrong – my advise: store every single card seperated/apart in a soft sleeve (this also applies for the cards used for See Through Card) . Also the midget sometimes becomes ‘free’ and it rattles when someone shakes the plates (I hand them out for inspection). |

Interesting topic. Good call Killertweety. Right off the hop, I'd say anything that uses specialty cards, such as See Through Card, The Sandwich Platter, Magic Painting & Grand Derby Prediction. They just don't age well. Next, I'd say anything that has a delicate part or gimmick, if broken the trick is toast. Stuff like Infinitum (lock bust), Mini-Zag, Mira-Metal, Blue Crystal, etc. Also items that use clear windows like, Floating Lady, Wonder Window, etc. Scratches can destroy the effect or secret. Finally, anything that you perform the most with, your favourites. Just due to repetitive use. Ah man, now I'm bummed. I just spent thousands in my mind.

Following exactly this train of thoughts led to my xxx pcs. collection. (correct amount defaced for pudency reasons)

Lol. You're bent & deeply twisted. How can you not love that in a Buddy?

Does anyone have the instructions or detailed handling for The Sandwich Platter ... invented by Hiroshi Kondo ?
YouTube didn't come up with anything. I found a set in fair condition and have figured out some of the handling. Thanks - p.s. Great topic!

That is some really good information. As for the scratches on the Billscape plastic plates or any scratches and scuffs on your plastic things Novus Plastic Polish is amazing. It has worked on most things with astonishing results for me. Check it out! https://www.novuspolish.com/ Richard
