Can anyone give a review of this sandwich trick. I recently purchased it and I'm waiting for it in the mail. I heard it is really good and the cards do 99% of the work. How are other bill goldman effects? I have mental yarn and I'm thinking of getting some more of his tricks.

Regal has a really nice gaffless version called "primate".

This is a really great trick. I found a precursor in Ed Marlo's "One Eyed Jacks Open the Other Eye" in "The Unexpected Card Book."
It is powerful way beyond the work, which is basically Marlo's Cover-Up Cut -- a slip cut. The effect is the instantaneous capture of a selection between two cartds merely placed atop the deck -- it seems impossible. The trick has, unfortunately, been ripped off by some dealers. Make sure you buy the original. Bill Goldman's latest ("Two for the Show") is a killer. Matt Field |

I really like this trick. I use it all the time in my routines. This is probably one of the best sandwhich effects out there!

You will love this trick. Just be sure to do it correctly and you will blow them away. Also consider making your own cards once you learn the secret from identical jokers. Makes it even better.

This is one of those effects that fooled "everyone!" the first time they saw it. It almost begs to the performer to say "watch me, don't take your eyes off, I will fry your a**.
Regal's version "Primate" is also excellent. |

I don't think I will ever see a better version of "Monkey in the Middle" than Michael Close's version. Instead of choosing a card, you simply name one! This puts the trick into a whole new realm, IMHO.

It's a great trick, however I find myself more often performing Regal's Primate since it is gaffless and impromptu and basically accomplishes the same effect.
Thought: Why does man kill? He kills for food. And not only food: frequently there must be a beverage.

The master cardexpert Darwin Ortiz use Monkey in the Middle as an ending in his cutting edge effect: Darwin´s Ambitious Card, page 148 in the great book: Scams & Fantasies with Cards. If Darwin use this concept than it must be great...
