I'm looking for a nuetral colored powder or pill or whatever that can change the color of water. So if for example, if someone selects a certain color, then I could drop nuetral colored pill (or powder) into the water to make it change into the color of my choice (based on the pill\or powder)
Does anyone know if such a thing exists? |

Mndud-
Phenophthalein is a chemical compound that will do the trick for you. My father who was a pharmacist used this for years when doing Pharmacy Magic for school kids. You should be able to get some from your local pharmacist. |

Yes.. Phenophthalein and ammonia turns a beautiful (really!) shade of fuchsia.
But I doubt you can get it at your pharmacist now days. It was used as a laxative for a long time, but it's now on the carcinogenic list. But you can get it online easily and it's cheap. I put out a trick a long time ago that used it. It was a bloody hand print trick. There are two really good 'Chemical Magic' books that have been around for ever. If you want to do that type of stuff, get the books. There are a lot of chemical color changing tricks in there. |
