The Tenyo Sutekina trick is based on Edward Massey's Ribbon Fantastique - easily predating the Tenyo trick.

Davy, you should find the "Crop-A-Dile II Big Punch" in crafts stores, mostly those specialized in scrapbooking (I saw one Crop-A-Dile recently in Strasbourg, France).

I just used the Novus polishes to remove the wear marks on the Eye of the Idol I just got.
It worked well. I've used it so far to clean up Illusionarium, Billscape, Future Clock (not the brown painted areas) Eye of the Idol and probably some more. |

I really hate it when they jack up the shipping charge. $42 for shipping.
Is it their goal to intentionally try to trick you?? It seems underhanded to me. Am I missing something? |

Hey AA maybe you could start a Tenyo restoration business on the side....
Ed the charges do appear high, however the seller is basing it on international express shipping with tracking. I know from experience that can be very expensive. I would assume if they are shipping within the country the charges would be less. They do mention that Paypal requires tracking be added otherwise the seller must refund all charges for lost deliveries. That doesn't really make it feel any better I know... Gas companies have tons of reasons for price increases but it never feels right! John |

In the US, the only way to send overseas with tracking is Express (or 'Priority') mail, which is typically around $34 (in my experience), even for small packages; this comes with insurance and an international tracking number - a must for the more expensive items. He says he'll refund any shipping overcharge. Oddly, he says in the description he will only ship Express mail for overseas, but there is a First Class Mail option below it for $10 (no tracking for this). |

Cyberdave, if I want to ship a package (up to 500 g) to the USA from BELGIUM with full (!) tracking and insurance as Paypal/Ebay requires (it's called 'Taxipost' here), it costs 31,50 EURO = 41,50 USD (pretty close to the 42 USD he's asking).
There are of course other pretty safe options like signed for etc. but they do NOT have full tracking. When it leaves Belgium on the 'tracking' site it sais 'dispatching in foreign country' and that's it ... and this is NOT what Paypal/Ebay requires - they want 100 % detailed and accurate tracking. |

This is the big lie of ebay and paypal ( the same society), I also no longer supports their way of doing a kind of large-scale scam. Ebay spends his time insiter vendors to set delivery prices as low as possible, see free, but the other requires the use of modes of shipping the most expensive existing if you want to be proteged.
On one side ebay charges fees on the online ads and on the sale, while PayPal takes money on the payment, plus the exchange rate. But if there is a problem all the excuses are good for not paying people. I hate Ebay, and I hate this kind of society. |

Ebay is now charging a fee to the seller on the shipping charges on top of the item fee.
The fees between ebay and paypal easy add up to 15%. Which is crazy when you consider that the seller is doing all the work. He is acquiring the product to sell, taking the pictures and listing the item, answering inquires, packing and shipping the product. Ebay and paypal are providing a valuable service by bringing buyers to you auction and providing an instant method of payment, but 15% is way to high IMO. AA |

Hi Tweety. I wasn't referring to what eBay/Paypal requires, but rather just sending a package (as in exchanging magic tricks ). If you send a package from UK or continental Europe to US with basic tracking, it's about $16; from Asian countries, it seems even much less. The other way around, however, there's no choice but the highest option at about $35. There are cheaper alternatives, but not with tracking.
