I have a review written on paper.. Well not a review just notes on each effect. I'll post them up if I can bring myself to type it..

This was my first serious card magic book. I read it from cover to cover over and over when it first came out in the 60s. There is enough good and great material in there to fill out entire repertoires of card magic. The book is fairly cheap and very well written. Try Out of this Universe, Vernon's Aces, Apex Ace, Lazy Man's Card Trick, Mated, Lorayne's Poker Deal and on and on.

It's a great book and one of the true classics on the art of close up magic with a deck of cards.

Harry's book has a lot of great card effects, some of which are still talked about in other threads here at the Café. That right there, ought to tell you something..........it's fantastic!!

Like The Original Countelmsley, Close-Up Card Magic was my first real magic book, and after almost 30 years of owning it, I still use it. My all-time favorite card effect from this book (and in general) is "STOP!", and I'll often do "Out Of This Universe" as well.

I use "Take Me To Your Leader" out of Lorayne's book. It is a four ace production that dumbfounds the audience. "Out of this Universe" is great, as well.
