I had several sets made by Johnson this year. They made additional sets to stock which are not listed on their site. They may still have some left in stock. I worked with Kathy from the office, she is very helpful. https://www.johnsonmagicproducts.com/sho......s_id=108

I would definitely agree with the recommendations made thus far.
A word of warning: I recently purchased an Eisenhower stack from a seller on eBay, and the coins were terribly glued together. The dried glue was actually dripping down the sides, and the top coin had a space that made the whole stack look suspicious. I immediately returned it for a refund. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. I don't think this seller was manufacturing them, but it's possible, so my advice would be to stay away from eBay when looking to buy this stack. I've purchased several Johnson coins in the past, and will never stray again. |

The shoe repair man in my town did a leather cylinder, dollar size, for me for $10, and works like a charm. No caps.
Jake made the stack. Now if I can only do the routine everything will be fine... |

There are several Russian coin makers I know that would love to bring product to the US but for some reason they don't. Their coin work is nothing like I've ever seen before.
My brother developed a coin called Triple Flip, the blueprints were emailed to a Russian coin maker and within a month my brother had a final working version, there was no beta or prototype. Literally if you can imagine something with coins, they can do it. It seems almost like witchcraft. These guys are way ahead of all of us and some of the ideas would really blow the magic community away. Our stacks are made by us and no longer use a glue, but what they call Liquid Solder, it's more reliable than a traditional soldered joint. They are not made by our late father Jake Zimmerman, that is why I sign Jake Jr. Our father passed away this past Spring. I hope this clears everything up now and we can all go about our business and be friends. Jake Jr.

Jake jr., thank you for the corrections of your process and ownership.
I am very sorry about your dad, I did not know that he passed away recently. I bought many of his cups, all nice. |

There was one in California that had a picture of an Ike stack and the same thing in the pictures though, Gorilla glue oozing out. The problem with Gorilla glue is that it expands as it drys. The Spacing happens when you don't mill the down the rims. I know another one that I bought a stack from, he used a glue similar if not Elmers Wood glue. You should contact the seller and ask for a refund if it's that bad. -Jake Jr.

For a wonderful stack and set-up I’d highly suggest mjj @airship magic . I own several stacks from several gaffers and several homemade stacks. Jake and Fredrick use very subtle details that make the stack not seem like it is a stack of coins glued together . Can’t go wrong with the price either.

Hey All~
I know this is an older thread, but I have a question if anyone knows. On a magnetic stack of coins, is the top coin magnetic or is it the stack that is magnetic? Thanks for any info. Sandy |

It depends on the manufacturer and how they've built it. There are many ways.
But typically it's that the stack is held together with magnets (so there's some ability for motion) rather than glue or a pin. On some, it's that only the top coin can do this, and the others are held together more traditionally. |

Thank you for your response!
I am meaning a stack where you can remove the top coin and the rest of the coins are connected. Specifically is that top coin the one that is magnetic or is the stack magnetic so a shimmed coin will attach? |

Again, I could see it being done either way. Mag coin, shimmed stack, or vice versa.
Probably the safest would be both magnetic, so that the two line up in a specific, known place. I recently ordered one of the Oliver Magic ones, but can't tell you which way it is yet. Perhaps a better question is: is it important to your routine? In the way you ditch or handle some of the coins, perhaps? If it isn't, then it doesn't matter much. If it is, then you should confirm for the specific stack you get to make sure it satisfies your particular need. |

Thank you Leo H and tonsofquestions for your responses!
That is all very helpful. That would make sense that both the stack and the separate coin are magnetic so they align properly. I was thinking there are a couple of effects I can do with the magnetic coin (for that matter, there are also effects with a shimmed coin I could do) either as a follow up or brief interlude within the routine. Anyway, thanks again for the info! |

How tall is the dynamic coins stack?
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Typically 4 coins.
My Oliver one arreived, and I can confirm that both sides are magnetic, as theorized. |
