I bought a billiard ball set that came in a red box with written "Super magic profession" on it. The balls are red and the shell is too large to miss from a close distance. The balls also don't have a good grip and are made of hard rubber and the the 2 shells are made of hard plastic. Now the balls have become darker but the colors of the shells are intact. Should I color them?

It sounds to me like you should toss them and get a set where the shell is better... and you can get a grip on the balls.

The Great Hegblini told me about a cream product you can buy at a golf supply store (maybe Walmart) that can help you grip things, like balls. I say keep them for practice and remember, the stuff you throw out today is going to a collectors item for someone tomorrow.
Et tu, Spartacus?

Is there anything to do about the color thing?

I wonder if you can paint darker red inside the shell to match the balls color? If the shell has darker color inside, people can't tell it looks like a ball shell because of some of the light shines behind the shell. I just put the idea out there, but you do it at your own risk. You can test with color paper first and see if that works.

We need to know this information in order to advise anything. So they come in a red box, there are cheap silicon balls that come in a red box currently, and the old German wood balls came in a small stapled red box for a time back in the 1960's. Some additional information would be helpful. |
