This is a good knife for detailed cuts in paper. On the fly maybe.

I actually have a few of these and I absolutely hate them!
I have been frustrated to high heck because if don't have them precisely aligned, they will drag an the paper and leave a horrble gash instead of a nice cut. Also on heavier stock than paper, say card stock - you'll think you've cut through based on the amount of pressure you've put on the blade only to find out it just surface cut. Then, if you go back over or try more pressure the next time, you'll leave the gash I mentioned above. And very important - The surfece you're cutting on can have a huge effect as well. These are just too inconsistant. I had high hopes when I purchase this type and another smaller version but in my opinion they are just not as good as a plain old Xacto. Despite what the youtube video says - save your money is my advice. Just an old farts opion though.

Thanks, it is just a surface cut on the fly I am after: See Forte in Phantoms of the Card Table, but that is not on the fly.

Ok. Gotcha.
Sure - might work well for that actually. Just watch out for the dragging.

I always knew my magic thumb tip skills would come in handy one day.
