I've recently come across heat-sensitive vanishing ink, and I do a card trick with it. The spectator picks a card (actually a force), ask them to think of their card and you reveal a piece of paper saying:
"People tend to think of..... the card that was picked!" You get a bit of a groan and a chuckle, but then you place some flash paper over it, light it, and reveal all but a few letters have vanished. "        ten             of      he  ar     t   s" I really like this trick - are there any other phrases (not just for card tricks) that use this principle? |

I am sure there are some tricks you could do with a mental magic type theme.
Check out the mental topics, as they are more in tune to this type of trick. |

There are a number of books available using a type of pen called a Frixion Pen, which is made by Pilot. One of the best available is an e-book by Jeff Stone called Stone Frixion Fire, which is also available on DVD. The e-book is something like $14.99 and I think the DVD is about the same price.
That heat-sensitive effect that you mention is in Stone Frixion Fire - I highly recommed it because it has a lot of really neat ideas and background and references in it. Note that this is definitely not the only book available on working with the Frixion pen, but it is, in my opinion, one of the best. You can find both the book and DVD at Elmwood Magic - http://www.elmwoodmagic.com. |
