Referring to the illustrations in Bobo's text, it appears that the Downs palm placement is much lower than what is described previously in the text. The reproduction is coming from the 2 & 3rd fingers, not 1 & 2. Was this Buckley's technique? It seems closer, but not exactly the same, to the edge grip production in Coins on Edge. Yes, I must obtain principles and deceptions.
Anyone perform this effect? What version do you like? Opinions appreciated. |

When it comes to Coins to Glass, I think the best versions are David Stone’s, John Bannon’s and Mr. Guinn’s. They are all great with a lot of thinking behind each version, I happen to perform a version using ideas from all the magicians.

Thanks for the reference ugdini1 - curious though - did you ever look at the Bobo description? Thoughts on the illustrations compared to the text would be appreciated!

Tedders,
As I recall, Buckley describes both positions and placement methods in his book, as well as a good many other things. Doesn't Bobo describe this as "Lower Downs Palm" or is that Buckley, too? Both are useful. The Upper position works well for productions and vanishes of smaller numbers of coins, and for magic at your fingertips. The Lower position allows you to work with more coins, and is useful in changing over stacks of coins imperceptibly. All this is hinted at in Bobo's. Do get the Buckley book. You'll find a lot of untapped imagination there.
