I have it and love it. Just used this at a cub scouts show Monday night. Gets awesome responses from the audience- young and old. As for the price, the props are definately not worth it but the idea, how it's accomplished and the rights to perform it are worth it. Hope this helps!

What's the point of a post that says 'don't waste your money' without any explanation as to what it is that makes it a waste of money.
It's as useless a post that says, 'this is great' without any explanation as to what makes it great. This product will seem expensive to anyone that doesn't end up using it but worth every penny to those that can find a place for it in their act. As there is a video of the effect on Tom Burgoon's website this should be a judgement that you can make before you buy the effect. In terms of physical materials you receive it will seem expensive... in terms of it being an entertaining piece from the repertoire of an established working pro and assuming you get it because you can see from the demo that it'll fit into your show it's a real bargain.

I have it & love it. It plays great. Do not judge it by what you see when you open the box.....give it a chance.

Can anyone tell me if you end up clean?
Can the spoons be examined before / after? Can you use borrowed spoons? I really like the look of this, it would be great for kids shows or as piece to break up a set in a show. |

The way I use it is before I do the effect that I originally chose the spectator for, I say to them, "Are you ready for this? I mean - are you really exicted- whoever helps me with this trick HAS to be pumped and charged- so before we do the trick- I have a little test to see if you are really revved up and charged" then you go into Stati-Kid- at when it's over you can say, "Now you are ready!" then go into your original trick you chose that person to help you with. This is very fun to perform and fun for the audience. Get it! RNK Posted: Dec 14, 2012 9:45am Another great touch is when you are done with Stati-Kid you say to them, "You seem to be ready now" and touch them (with a Funkenring) and watch the sparks shoot out! You then tell them, "Yep - you are ready!" RNK

This isn't a "walking through the great wall of china" piece....it's a personality piece. After seeing Tom perform this at a mini-convention, I ordered this even before it was available. I love it. I, too, use it more as an intro to an effect that I have a kid selected to perform with me. It gets really strong reactions and allows for a ridiculously cute photo opportunity for the parent and child. Choose your volunteer wisely. You probably want to save this one for the birthday child or the kid of the person hiring you for the event.
Seriously, this would be the kind of photo from someone's childhood that would be included in someone's 50th birthday video. Burf, to answer your questions, in order: they shouldn't care they shouldn't care no patrick |

I use it and it plays strong. I like the music provided as well. Why do people think everything have to be able to be examined?

...because some people don't understand the concept of a performance piece and are only looking for the latest 'can't fail' gimmick. Just my opinion.
I knew exactly HOW the effect was accomplished when I saw Tom's vid but I didn't care. I ordered it and love it. |

I worked out a way you could do this, but to me the price is cheap for the rights etc, this would be great if you do kids or adults.. I will be buying it.

Do audiences look at this as magic? I think it is a good photo op but wonder why they just look at this as tape on spoons? I am not knocking it but just viewing it as I see on the trailer, I would think it is cute but not magic and just make that assumption.
Please let me know what I am missing. Thanks |

This looks great and although I did kids shows in homes, pubs, hotels, schools, halls, holiday resorts etc. for over 2o years I am mainly a close up /cabaret performer now.
Having said that I could definately make this work with an adult. It looks like one heck of a piece of entertainment and fits my style of performance.Very tempted by this. Excellent. Mike Donoghue |

I also have this and love it!! It plays great and if you preform it right there is no need to have anything examined.

I have Stati-Kid and I use it and love it. You can show a clean spoon, but the spoons can't be handed out for inspection after the trick. It plays really well for kids magic shows and I usually use a boy age seven or under.
