I'm looking to hire a new Marketing Coach. Does anyone have any suggestions? Looking for someone experienced and affordable. So hiring Tony Robbins is out of the question

I did some marketing coaching in the past but honestly just don't have the time flexibility any more to provide such a service. If you are interested in talking business informally sometime, let me know.
BTW...if you like Tony Robbins, you can get coaching via his coaching organization. |

What do you hope to receive or achieve from a (working with) marketing coach?
What are your goals? What do you expect from a marketing coach? Where do you want to be (or see yourself) 6 months from now? 1 Year? 5 Years? How do you see yourself? As a performer? As a marketer? What markets are you working now? What type(s) of magic do you perform? What to you think are realistic expectations? For yourself and from the coach/program? How much 1 on 1 do you need, expect or want? There are a lot of programs in the marketplace and just like effects, some are great and some ..... might be a waste of your time & money resources like anything else, don't go on the seller's word alone. Ask to speak with clients they have or look at what the program and or coach has done for their clients career. All just common sense stuff you probably thought of already

Hey Ben, I would check out the local BNI chapter (Business Networking Intl.) and see if they have a coaching member. Usually the professional coaches are members of a association or group, so if a chapter member can't help you you could always be referred to someone else.
There is also the Kennedy groups of which many members are marketing coaches. Blair (P.S. I am not a member of BNI)

Ben,
No matter who you pick, make sure you do your homework. There are many guys out there claiming to be magic marketing gurus. Without naming names, this friend of mine signed up for some of their coaching programs and was really disappointed. The thing is, this person had a real desire to learn and expand his business. How many times have you bought a magic marketing course based on a few bold bullet points and then discovered the author spent about two sentences on that topic? Put another way, it was a ruse to get you to buy the product. The biggest problem I have with most of these courses is that many authors just CAN NOT STAY ON THE TOPIC. They meander all over the place and tell you everything EXCEPT WHAT THEY PROMISTED THEY WOULD TELL YOU. It must be an epidemic out there somewhere! All I'm saying is "Buyer Beware." Gerry |

That's why I am suggesting a professional coach in his local area where he can actually have a sit down with them to see if they are a good fit.. Some of these coaches even run mastermind groups which may not require the $$$ outlay as pure coaching might.

Remember that there is a difference between a "coach" and a "consultant". A consultant will have technical knowledge in an area you are needing help with. A coach will help you to establish goals, a plan, and help you to stay on track. Sometimes you can find someone who is both a coach and a consultant. It is good to know what you are looking for: someone to pass knowledge to you or someone to coach you.

Hmmm....could be, he is asking for a "marketing" coach. This borders perhaps more on the consultant.

Yes, it is good to know what you are looking for as a "coach" isn't the one that necessarily gives you the answers: he/she will push you to determine what your needs are, find the knowledge, act upon it, and review the results. The consultant will give you recommendations and lay out the information and it is your job to make it work. Both are good but different approaches.

Each individual is just that... there is no one-size-fits-all or magic bullet system, program, product or mentor.
Ben an I had a nice chat and I suggested some things to look for, both for what he wants to accomplish as well as what BEN needs to do to be ready for an appropriate coach, mentor, counselor, strategic advisor... what-ever assignment we choose to place on that relationship as well as what to look for in a leader who can serve the individual and very specific and unique situation for Ben and his desired goals and outcomes. I did suggest some simple strategy and some 'homework' so he would be ready for such a relationship when each find the appropriate win, win scenario for each. Ben is a very smart dude and has a LOT going for him and I have no doubt he will find his way and in pretty short order I might add. I am honored and proud to call him friend. Just my share. Hope that serves… ~ Dean <><
