I have been practicing the pivot for about a month now, and I am not flashing that often anymore. But I do have a couple of problems that maybe someone can help me fix.
1) I usually end up with the edges sticking out pretty far on both the front and back palm. I know that if I keep my hands moving, it is not so noticable. Any tips that could help me reduce the amount of the border showing would be grateful. 2) I can always hear the card when I pivot, any thoughts on how to correct? Thanks! Ryan |

Well for the first part you could try using borderless cards, Bees for example, this would hide the borders more.
Secondly, although "you" can hear it, what the audiences hears is completely different because you are listening for it, for a start. Also you know when the noise will come, they won't. However you could try introducing some patter at this point to cover it up a little..? Andy |

If your audience is hearing your pivot, then they are too close! The pivot is a UTILITY to be used with your card manipulation on stage. They will not be able to hear the pivot on stage with music

I cant get the pivot down! I cant get it to clip when i turn the back of my hand to the audience. And My fingers just cant reach around the other end when i turn my palm back to facing the audience. Its frustrating! Maybe im not cut out for this manipulation...

Being a 'standard' driver who own's an automatic car, I find practicing the pivot while driving is an excellent use of my bored right hand...
Just a thought if any one tells you to keep practicing... |

This may prove helpful to all you fustrated pivoters.
I asume you are all alright getting the card into back palm. The cards outer edge should be positioned on the outer or third phlanages (mis spelt). You then Bend your fingers forward. Now on jeff mcbride tapes he describes it how he can do it but i feel it's a move like the pass, it is whatever feels natural. This is what i have done to accomadate the move to me what i do is rather that using my 2nd 3rd fingers to push the card into front palm i use my thumb to drag the card down. I feel that also it elimates "windows" as when you move you 2nd 3rd fingers you will flash. I don't believe you need a stage to "perform" this. Just a room atmosphere to cover the noise. Let the Thumb be with you |
