I have heard a lot about d lites in magic and was thinking about getting one. Is it worth it? Also, any books or dvds on routines using them? I don't want to buy loads (Trying to stop myself from buying all the magic I see).

You'll probably want more than one. At least a pair, one for each place it's supposed to be (without giving anything away).
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Get two. Watch for them for sale here on the Café.

I think it’s one of those things where you need to have a good routine. It’s incredibly obvious if you just stand there holding a light. But with motion and a bit of a story line, the things can be downright magical. And yes, you will need more than one.
...what if I could read your mind?

Most of them come in sets though. If you buy from a dealer then you'll get the amount you need.
I love d'lites, but if you're interested I also really enjoy "Wonder Lights" by Theater Magic. (No, I'm not getting paid to say that.) It's similiar but I like it better. Hope I helped! -Teed |

D'lites are well worth it.
As noted, learn to handle them properly, have a good routine/story. As attention getters, these are hard to beat. MAKE SURE TO BUY A PAIR (as said) THESE ARE *NOT* sold in pairs by most board and mortar shops (at least not the ones in my area). There are also several sizes, so it's worth a visit to ensure they fit properly. Teedpop is right, Wonder Lights are also cool, but for a more advanced worker. If you're a coin worker and have the slights mastered, I would say go with Wonder Lights. If you're like me and coin slights aren't your forte'... stick with the D'Lites.

Many thanks for the replies. I have looked on the internet and could only see two sizes. Adult and junior. I am guessing that a magic shop will have more sizes on display?

Rocco's original D'lite's, by the way, are available by the pair for about $25. It would be good to find the Deluxe Set (which HAD a VHS Tape). Not sure if a DVD is out now or not... Doug |

They are great but the availability is a problem. The box says "as seen on tv" and they have been said to be available at kiosks. So, the wide sale gives rise to the "I know how to do that" syndrome. Perhaps a tie in with the bag-o-lights will circumvent some of this potential

Hamley's sell a good beginner set.
Unfortunately they're about £20, when Ive seen just as good knockoffs at magic conventions. |
