Thing is, critter, that the characters you are referring to are fictitious and, hence, a certain amount of artistic license can be used in portraying them. Having an African American actor portraying Bobby Fisher, on the other hand, might be a bit of a stretch don't you think? (Of course, Ossie Davis played JFK in ""Bubba Ho Tep"!)

You have to consider the other issue as well. If they don't use James Earl Jones then they can't have him say:
"There's one thing about chess you should know, Mr. Cardoso... Always bet on black."

I thought that was Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57.
I was making a joke with the ENTIRE POST for the record.

Wesley Snipes was talking about roulette, thus this is an entirely different one-liner.
I was joking about Matt Damon, but I was serious about Jackie Earle Haley.

If there's one thing I learned from Domino, it's that characters based on real people are much more entertaining in fabricated situations.
"This summer... Wesley Snipes... is... Bobby Fischer... in... Chess Road House! 'King's boot to your ass, Spazz-ky.'" (Cut to title card as board explodes.)

"Ernest Borgnine *is* Gamera."
From a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode featuring the movie "Gamera".
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

When Fischer makes his 'big blunder' in the first game (Bishop takes Pawn), he can stand up and yell, "This is the big one, baby!"

And the reason he wants to clear the front rows of spectators is because Aunt Esther is there.
