Have you considered "vaporize" followed by "solidify?"

The debate is not WHY he wants something to reappear. He's looking for a term to describe it. So I don't think it needs to be assumed that he's no good or that his audience will automatically be disapointed. Sorry, I just got "infected" with the idea that some folks should look up the word "hubris".

Reg, the question remains yours; What is the story behind the coins vanishing?
It all comes from the story you are telling in words and/or action. We have a rich language to work from, and lots of stories to work with. For example(s) Things you send away may return. Things that dematerialize or dissipate may congeal or materialize. Once you have the story or premise in words, the particular language is there for you. For those wish to explore, I wish the best. To those whe confuse information and opportunity with oppression, I wish as much recrudesce as it takes for them to want to move on.

Vanish - produce
Disappear - appear vaporize - solidify Another idea might be to go Trekkie on them "beamed him up! Beamed him back!" "Banished to the bowels of the Universe" "Regurtitated BY the bowels of the Universe!" - for the Bizarrists out there "Gone like my last tax refund check!" "Back like my monthly payment notice from the IRS!" Just some applications... Lee Darrow, C.Ht.

Reappear-implies that it has appeared at least once before which is usually not the case during an effect.
And maybe I missed it in the thread but what about the word "appears." That is the opposite of disappeared. But if there is anyone out there using the term undisappeared they should have all of there thumbtips taken away. Matt |

One of the major advantages of using a "real" thesaurus or a "real" dictionary is the education provided by the words surrounding the entry you are looking up. Also, a "real" thesaurus or a "real" dictionary may give you a greater depth of meaning and/or choice than an on-line one. But back to the subject at hand. Have you considered using the word "appear?"
