To use the same phrasing you (or, I guess, Ron) has been using, I think Ryan's premise could be summed up as:
"What if I could switch two decks without anyone noticing?" Perhaps the term "deck switch" is what's causing the confusion -- he's not referring to it the same way a gambler or a magic technician might. I've seen Ryan's script for this, but I don't know how much he would want discussed, so I'll leave it up to him to clarify more, if he wishes. -Jim

Ok... to re-phrase my invisible deck premise...
"What If I could switch decks faster than humanly possible" Or, the other major element of that presentation... "What if there was an Olympics for card cheating" And I really don't want to tip any more than that on this presentation of mine at the current time. But I must be really missing something if that isn't a perfect fit for Ron Bauer's defenition above. -Ryan Pilling

Ryan,
Now you have a premise. I have to make something clear though, this isn't "Ron Bauer's definition." RB LEARNED these principles and techniques. (Mostly from Aristotle's Poetics.) Quote:

Beyond exercise, what would be the purpose of doing a routine for an audience without a premise?
