OK, so I'm on the Café reading the forum about PHP and Alexander Kolle's "Stitched" (for which I am now awaiting delivery), and I see a comment from the folks at the Merchant of Magic in the UK where they say that "Stitched" has taken over the top selling spot from their own "Pressure PK Pro". So naturally that makes me go check out their site for this product. Seems pretty interesting- two individual coins are fused together and can be handed out to your spectator. Maybe I missed it, but apparently there are no switches. Only problem I see is that the two supplied coin gimmicks are British, and I need American coins to do this. They do, however claim that the coins can be borrowed, although I don't see how, unless there is a switch involved. The use of the term "PK" means something very specific, although there is some sort of "No M*****s" claim in the ad. They also say that it can be used with the M5 system. I could not find anything here about this. Can anyone here give any info on this? Can it be used with American coins? Is it as good as they say? I would post a link to the website ad, but I don't know how to do that! Someone from the Merchant of Magic please come on here and give us some info!

Why not email them and ask? Probably going to be a lot quicker than waiting for them to come to you.

Welcome to the world of reading between the lines of magic ads. You're right, though - it doesn't all add up, if every claim you cite is actually in the ad.
Michael Rubinstein and Jay Sankey each released basically the same gimmick using American coins. Wonder if that's why the MOM effect seems to only be available in UK coinage.

Well, Maxfield, I'm just going from memory- I didn't have the ad copy right in front of me when I wrote my post, and I had to read the ad copy pretty quickly- I had very little time before my son's concert band performance and the wife was getting very antsy. I don't actually care if the coins have M*****s in them- I expect that they do. There HAS to be! They did not actually say that there was no switch involved, but they did say that you could borrow the coins. A switch seems to be the only way around that if you need two supplied coins. If there is a switch involved there should be no need to state "Coins can be borrowed". ANY object for ANY effect can be borrowed for a trick that requires a special gimmick if you are willing to make a switch. But it still seems pretty neat to me. A couple of powerful M*****s combined with a slight recess in the larger coin, and the two coins would be awfully hard to get apart.
And thanks, Sean- I'm sure that contacting them would be the easiest way, but since they are prowling these forums anyway (their post was just made several hours ago), I'm sure that they will run into this thread soon and reply. It certainly shouldn't hurt sales if they came on and touted their product. They are claiming this to be their number one selling product until "Stitched" came along. But I actually would like to hear from an OWNER of this effect rather than the marketers. |

Hi
Tadaa!! Your wish is my command! Yep, It's not available in US currency sorry. Check out Michael Rubinstein's 'Fusion' for a similar item in US coins. Several routines are taught. You can do a switch or not do one, depends how you present it. It can be done without using M's perfectly or if you use a PK Ring or get the PK pro version which comes with a special M gimmick for example you can really throw one coin at the other they fuse.

Thanks, Dominic! This sure looks nice to me, and you would have a sale right now they were US coins. I will, however, check out Michael R's "Fusion". I wish you the best!!

Thanks, I really appriciate it.
Have you tried shooting Michael an email? He may be able to hook you up with one. I've not seen Jay's version, but maybe that would be worth looking at? Let me know if I can help you further Dominic

I'd thought that Rubinstein had a version where the coin was embedded flat, like yours Dominic. Maybe I was thinking of Sankey's, which he doesn't make anymore.
Your version looks great, Dominic, and it sounds as though it comes with plenty of instruction and routines.
