I have both a 10 inch set that I use for stage and Shoot Ogawa's Ninja ring I use for close-up situations.
There are many moves that one can do to convince the audience that these are solid rings. Learn to spin the key ring on a finger- different moves. Great dvd's on the linking rings that I use is Whit Haydn's Comedy 4 rings and Dan Harlan's new Manipulation dvd. Pop's routine is just great and you have great audience participation. Dan teaches some nice moves that really sell the deception of the gimmick, even for those who are in the know. I often will get a spectator coming to me after a show and saying something to the effect of "hey, I got a set of linking rings at home but they don't do what your's do. Where did you get those rings from? Mine don't work that way". Peter Biro also has a book about the linking rings that I hear is fantastic as well. |

I have separated my three-set several times by hacksawing the middle ring, so making a second key should be no problem. No doubt you have long since found your rings, but let me know if I should go looking for that 10" set. Love to watch you perform... Regards, Jim

Levent's DVD set is *excellent*, fantastic value, great information and ideas.
The Ninja and Matt Garrett's Ninja+ sets are the way to go for close up. There's also quite a bit of ring and rope material you could work in, if you're that way inclined. Aldo Colombini has some good material in that area. Aside from the Levent Set, Jim Cellini's "Lord and Master of the Rings" is a great, minimal routine. |

Dear fellow magician, I just found in a craft store some big platic heart shaped 'rings' and thinking to turn them into props.
have you ever experimented with odd rings shapes ? and plastic ( similar to plastic coat hanger feel ). Where should I place the spot on the key ring in your educated opinion ? thanks |

I'm just saying this. the Messado rings are by far the only pair of rings you will ever need to buy. they aren't cheap but I've had mine and done performances daily for 2 years and they still look amazing. they don't give off that budget magician vibe either. it's a nice polished feeling when you use em and people don't feel like its cheesy magic
