Hello
i'am looking for source about this kind of effect : a spectator shuffle the deck .you fan the deck toward him and ask him to look just one card and remember it . You take the deck put it n your back and you find the thinking card ... .to force the card , you do a reverse fan and when you show it to the spectator , all the cards are white except one card (the bottom card) who is visible ... i'am interested about the origine of this effect with this principle . thanks ¨PASCAL |

That sounds like a pretty weak force if I understand it correctly? They'd be aware they only have one choice?
I use a very similar idea when using a participant as an instant stooge. |

Yes, Llynus, that is what Christ used it for as well. Henry, not Jesus.

It is weak to use this as a force when spectator selects a card, but very useful when spectator guess a prominent card in the deck.
Very good example is Paul Curry's 'Mind Reading?". It is written in "Paul Curry's World Beyond". The trick was first introduced in 1947. Hideo Kato |

I know Dunninger used it within his stage show.

I've been told tales of Chuck Smith using this as well. I don't remember it being in any of his published works, but it may give you a lead should you decide to dig deeper.

Any chance this discussion could be moved to Secret Sessions?
