Zippy is still continuing on with the Swan Family Circus after his brother Hi Top passed. Operating these days out of a 20 by 40 top, he pounds the stakes himself and says as long as he has a couple of days before opening, he can get everything up. He's in Placerville this week and doing well, still with the gold shoes and zaniness. His elephant collection is said to be a record Guinness Book World Record.

What a Remarkable Story...Andy and Hi tops were on Carden International when they were at a Building waiting for the Show after a long jump,They decided to start there own Circus, built a ring curb in the Parking lot and the rest is History! ..I still have a "Almost Famous Swann Bros Circus" hat Andy gave me years ago...Glad to hear Andy's still troupin..
You come to a point in your life when you really don't care what people think about you, you just care what you think about yourself.

Tell Andy HI from me. Is he still doing his incredible scrapbook/journal? That one will be in the Smithsonian somewhen, I think. It's a very valuable piece of historical documentation.

I don't know about the scrapbook, but he is gunning for the record with his elephant collection. Curator, I gave Zip a copy of Small Town Big Top and he was grateful. We didn;t get to chat a whole lot, as he had his show to do. He's still plugging along. I don't see him much anymore as I only do two shows in California. Maybe he will show up in Fresno like he did two years back. I will pass you message along as I am expecting an email from him shortly.

Yes, saw Zippy at Placerville Fair a week ago. He now has Lo Tops with him, a young kid breaking into the ranks. He has tried a few. Great guy, Andy.

You were at Placerville Dr. Solar? Should have stopped by to say hello. Of course I was working the vending side of the midway there with our "Hippie Store" Will you be back at Fresno this year? I'll be there as the Voice of the Fair for the third year. I am happy about that indeed! Thursday we head up to Washington to begin our Northwest swing. See ya in October.

Hey there abigkahuna/1,
I didn't get around El Dorado Fair too much. Just went looking at the spread. Caught some of Sourdough Slims set. I'll be at Fresno again luckily having lost a couple other gigs. How about a shout out at Fresno. do you mention my shows? Or are you told what to mention and what not? Stop on over and say "Hi" I'm working that fair like 8 hours with my walk around and cruising on the solar charged trike.
