I've gone brain dead.
Years ago, I would show 8-10 cardboard pictures of cartoon characters (size: 8" x 10") to the kids in this manner: The stack of pictures would be held face down. I would remove the bottom picture & then show it to the audience of kids. I would place it face down on the top. I would then remove the next bottom picture, show it & put it face down on top. I continued this procedure until I showed all the pictures. I would next continue to hold the pictures face down while removing one from the top & then putting it on the bottom (I think). I would continue to move the top picture to the bottom & then ask the volunteer to stop me whenever they felt like. They would then receive the top picture which is the picture to be forced. I can't remember how I accomplished this. I wasn't the rough & smooth method. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? Maybe I'm not remembering it correctly. I think I learned this type of force from maybe David Ginn or Dave Risley. If anyone has any ideas, they will be appreciated. |

Buy David Ginn's "It's All The Same Trick" DVD from http://www.ginnmagic.com. He shows a simple method of mixing the cards, and having the spectator call "stop!" anytime, yet still ending on the force card/picture/photo.

Arthur,
Thanks for the suggestion. I may look into it. Spellbinder also PM'd me with his thoughts on what I must have been doing & I believe he's correct! On my way into work this morning (yeah, I have a day job), I was mentally reviewing my post from yesterday & it occurred to me that's how I must have done it (a sort of 'glide'). Thanks again. |

Arthur,
Which Ginn DVD is that trick on? |

I see on his website that David Ginn's original "It's All The Same Trick" DVD has been incorporated into the "Invisible Message" DVD. It's available for $20. Well worth the investment. I personally have adapted the basic principle for many live shows, by simply adapting the script and using different picture cards. I wrote a custom piece of music, which has accompanied each variation of the trick throughout the years.
