What are some good packet tricks with visible changes... that don't require a lot of skill or practice to pull off.
tricks like waving the aces??? or the new monte routine Three??? |

Dazed , Bedazzle, Spin Doctor, and some others of the same theme where the backs changes. Queen Out of controls is a wild card with changes in the backs and the faces. Presto Printo, has a lot of changes

Nothing requires any practice at all, if you don't mind not making a favorable impression. Twisted Sisters requires next to no sleights, but if you don't practice it with a script, you might end up with yawns. If you can do an EC well, it opens up a world of possibilities - can you? Royal Scam is great, but requires a certain amount of practice - of moves (including an EC variant, that Bannon explains), and of script (ie of presentation).
I think you are saying you want to avoid knuckle busting effects with things like buckle related counts, but I'm not completely sure.

Spin doctor is one that definitely comes to mind. Another great one is Out The Blue by John G.

Ya... I like a lot of the tricks mentioned. but I want the type of change to be almost instant... the kind of change where if you blink, you miss it.
I like just shaking the cards or something like that to make them change. JayWalk by Gordon Bean looks pretty cool. I like the changes where the kings turn face up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuNVgRdYOGo or mexican revolution seems really similar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-Zud39Qtks I like the look of royal scam... I like how you can see the cards pretty much right up until they change. these are the packet tricks that I like doing right now: stand up monte, b-wave, entourage, NFW if I have a surface, I love doing a 5 card wild card and skinner's monte. I can do a bunch of others, but these ones are my favourite ones right now. I really liked the look of Three by Steve Valentine because I loved how you can see the kings change right in front of your eyes. but I think I'd like to stick with the stand up monte, but ideally have a packet trick with some very visual changes that doesn't need a surface either. ideally something with some sort of gaff card |

I quite like Nick Trost's Unknown Card, where six cards become blank (with a funny kicker ending). It's not one of those "if you blink..." changes, but the spectators will have no idea when it happened. Also, you end somewhat dirty, but I have never had any problems with that. Some audience management can help convince them that everything is examinable.

Have at look at JB Magic effects. A large chunk of Mark Mason's card tricks are very visual.
I have & can vouch for the following (all JB products) - 21 Royal Flash Crossword Matchbox |

Sounds like you are comfortable with an EC. May I highly suggest Back Flip by Sam Schwartz? it's jam packed with all sorts of changes, starting with twisting aces type of effect, then all cards suddenly face up, then change in color backs, and finally an unexpected back color change.
Daryl goes through it in his Fooler Dooler volume 3. A really great effect, I think what you are looking for.

I would also recommend "I Hate David Copperfield" as pure eye candy and super easy to do. Cards visibly melt through one another.

I've been using Ambitious Rendezvous from The Book of Destiny.
Four cards, no gaffs, well taught in the book and DVD. Lots of magic with stunning changes at the end. Paul |

Here's one I've been doing a lot lately and loving it. It's called "Here-a-Move, There-a-Move, Everywhere-a-Move Move" from Caleb Wiles book High Spots. This book is going to be my next review and I actually demo the routine. It's a lot of fun.

I figured out a way to do it after watching these videos, and I do believe the "easy" version really is easy. |
