Hey everyone, I have only used ebay and penguinmagic for my magic supplies, but they don't have what I'm looking for which is a dancing cane. Could anyone recommend one to me? Something around $25, I don't have much to spend. I don't know where to get one because I have never heard of some of the shops that sell them. Please help thank you

I found one for $9.95 at http://www.elmwoodmagic.com. For the price, it is unbelievable! It splits into two, and comes with a case to carry/store it in.
This may not be the greatest cane out there, but for the price it is perfect for your first dancing cane. It was my first, and now is a perfectly good backup for my other dancing cane. Hope this helps, Evan |

Save your money and invest in a Losander wand or cane. The hookup is ingenious and allows you to start and end clean.

Yes, they say Losander's is great, but a little pricey. But that is because it is well made.
But for your case, why don't you try Peter Loughran's Ultimate Cane. It is not expensive, it's different and you have two effects in one. You will also need a Fantasio vanishing cane for this one. That is if you don't have it. If you don't, it won't come too much either. Watch the video here. Hope this helps.

Does Peter's come with the IT? What kind is it because I like to do close up (aprox.....5-10 away with illusions like this). Thanks

Hi djvirtualreality:
I think it will be extremely hard to do the dancing cane close up, like you mentioned. If you're going to use a fantasio cane, I know of no IT that's strong enough to use with it. I think this effect is really meant for stage work with proper lighting. It looks really bad to float an item and have the audience see the method. Ron |

If you want to do this closeup, get a Losander dancing WAND. You CAN do this closeup. Not 3 inches under their nose, but a few feet away it should look great!
Also, the actual "gimmick" you need for dancing cane is not just your ordinary IT, it is special and usually comes with your basic dancing canes/wands. |

I've seen the demo of the wand and it looks fantastic! Especially when he floats it between his hands like we normally do a UFO card. Very very magical and it claims to end clean! You can use the wands for other things, i.e. Cups & Balls or the usual hocus pocus stuff. It's pretty light too! Man, if it weren't so pricey, I'd grab one up right now! Guess I'll just have to keep saving!
Take care, Logan

I recently aquirred a Losander Wand and it is truly a wonderful thing. You do start and end completely clean and you can perform it very close in. Losander uses it in his trade show work. It comes with a lifetime supply of thread and it's own travel case.
I would reccomend it highly to anyone who is looking for this type of effect. The wand makes more sense than a cane as well as no one uses cane much these days but no one questions a magician having a wand.

That is very true payne, but how much is it? I'm very new to the IT world. I perform simple effects like floating bills, moving odjects, but nothing like floating a wand. Where might I obtain this? Thanks

Yes Losander's Canes and wands let you end clean. He tips the how in his first video. It is ingenious.
As for the Ultimate Cane, I don't know exactly what IT is used.

The Ultimate cane is probably right up your price range and yeah you get 3 effects in one:-a dancing, Flaming, vanishing Cane.
However it is ment for stage applications. Im not really sure that I know of a Dancing Cane that uses I.T. and are not ment for stage or parlour applications. Most are kevlar, fine, nylon, etc. However if you have the right background and lighting going on, you can do most dancing cane routines 10-20 feet away without worry. But because The Ultimate Cane uses Real Fire I can only reccomend you using it onstage and at a safe distance from your audience. And who wants to do the Ultimate cane routine without the fire? that's the best part ! Good luck, P.

Uggh $99 I'm sure it's great but I don't want to pay that much for it. Maybe I should forget about this? I don't really have an aplication for me to use it (dancing cane) I would only want to use it at school.
