Does anyone here know how to age (oxidize) a brass coin? I want my coins to look a little older so they contrast my walking liberties.
Thanks Doug |

Cat urine in sawdust works for copper, and maybe brass as well?

Anyone know of anything more practical than cat urine? I know bleach works for silver coins.

For those without a handy source of cat urine, there are also several products available that cause a patina to form quickly.
http://www.modernoptions.com/html/products/rustpat.html Lots of modern crafts achieve an older look by using a copper paint, and then applying a patina liquid. The following page has some ideas on creating a patina, but I can only vouch personally for the Modern Options "Sophisticated Finishes" products. http://www.paintstore.com/drpaint/15921.html Good luck! |
