For those that use SM magic POP gun. Have you come up with any other ideas on how to acknowledge their silk besides the knot in the dye silk? I was thinking of a small colored pin that they pick out of an assortment of colored pins. They place the pin on the silk and that is the one that ends in the apple. Any other ideas. I don't like the knot tie idea.

Have the silk marked so that it will be instantly recognised - much like the bill in bill to lemon. I draw an outline of an island, and have a kid mark the hidden treasure with an "X", and initial it. The audience then realise it's exactly the same silk you started with. Sure, you have to use a new silk for every performance, but bulk purchase small, cheap silks are easy to find.

That's one option, but lets think outside the box. Is there a way to save money and those poor little silks Anyone come up with a way to only use the one set of silks. I even though cloth tape and they can write their name on it? Anyone else have any ideas.

Well, if you don't want to use magicians silks (at about 50c each, I consider them "disposable" items), you could simply buy a roll of suitable (thin) material and cut it up into pieces. This would make your outlay about 5-10c per show. You could also offer a selection of different cloths, so the cloth, as well as the signature/mark, would be instantly identifiable.

But see how discussing things gives you new ideas? I actually think a piece of raggedy cloth will be a far superior option for my presentation, than a beautifully coloured and sewn silk. And historically, maps were drawn on cloth, as paper was rare, and less durable. So, I've gained something from this thread. Hope others have too. Potty |

That is a better way than purcahsing silks. Time to head out to the fabric store or hobby lobby and see what they have. Certainly has to be cheaper than silks.

Glad to be of help, Isaiah. And thanks for posting your question, because it made me realise that this is a better option!
