So in a couple of weeks, my wife will be heading on for major surgery. Yesterday we met with the surgeon. This woman comes highly recommended, and from talking to her, I can tell she knows her job well. She is well knowledged and has done this procedure many times successfully. So what is my issue with her? She stinks. Literally, she has B.O. it is strong and offensive. Now, if we met with her at the end of the day, I would say, well she just came out of surgery and has not had time to shower up. Fair enough on that, but we met her at 8:45 in the morning. Fresh out of bed. She is a hippy type, no bra, long gray pony tail etc. I don't care about any of that. Surgeons are supposed to be among the most hygienic people in the world. Washing hands often and very aware of infection potentials. And she smells bad? Do you think I am being unreasonable to judge her like that? At first my wife blamed me for it, but I shower up every morning, I don't like to smell bad and we all have the potential. Then she realized it wasn't me. Oh yuck.

Maybe she is just a stinky person all of the time, but there may be other explanations. Is it possible that she cycles a long way to work or just came from the gym, and had not had a chance to clean up before seeing you in the morning? Maybe she did all that and plans to clean up at, say, 10 am right before surgery. Maybe if she had taken an extra shower on top of that earlier in the morning, she would not have had time to see you as well?

Maybe she was on-call all night?

They don't wear masks for nothing.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

If she has done the procedure a lot use her.
My wife general surgeon in San Jose, he also did work on me, was a Muslim. He asked if I had any questions and I asked "if something goes wrong will you save me or think 'oh well Allahs will be done' and let my infidel arse die?". He said he would save me. So I said have at it. I actually might ask her because I never trust doctors who smoke since they should know better. Then again I am an a hole at times. I asked a dental hygentist after she moved her hands around my face to projet healin powers if she believed tooth decay was caused by wood elves. She stopped the mystic stuff with me. (Note; I would ask any overtly religious doctor, Christian or Muslim, about taking steps to save my life because I am in their hands not their deity) |
