I use letter C...Hope you don't mind my adding why...I figure it, obviously, makes your fingers stronger and when you actually perform with "broken-in" cards, it makes the job that much easier.

I might use letter C some day.
but I'm still doing hand exercises with my gripper the cards SHOOT OUT every after I backpalm them. Roy, since you use letter C I'm curious, how many cards can you backpalm and produce individually at max? :bg: mine is jusy....... 3 - 5 |

I can produce 25 regular bikes from backpalm. I preform with manipulation cards though, and man, it is like a totally different thing.

I can, although I don't in the routine I'm practicing now, backpalm twenty cards...I prefer to use regular cards, I find the manip. cards too small. Also, and I think it's already been discussed here, I find it hard to perform with cards that are too soft. When I break my cards in too well or they get too flimsy I just get sloppy. I need that crispness that new cards have. Anyone else?

I use whatever cards I have in my bucket lol, so are broken in or some are brand new that have just fallen on the floor and I can't figure which deck they go to.

I use the cards inside the box, it puts muscles into your fingers... I know its kind of weird, but it helps because your trying to conceal a larger amount of the cards, so when you do regualr manipulations it should be easier.

I use them all. The reason for this is so that I get used to the feeling, texture and the size of various playing cards. It is also good exercise for the fingers and the muscles of the hand.
I also like practicing with all the various types so that I expand my card manipulation knowledge. One can not determine what cards will work good for any one sequence in an act, unless the magician learns the benefits and weaknesses of the various card types. I consider it a way for me to experiment and learn.

I use a mixture because some card manipulations are easier with softer cards such as split fans where as some are easier with stiffer cards such as the perfect and snap production.
Just experiment to find out which cards work best for each manipulation. ;) |

I like to try all types of productions with all types of cards. Experimentation really is the key. Different people will have different preferences I think.

I use C when I can. Brand new cards just excite me. Truthfully I use whatever is at hand. You never thought I had a plan, did you?

Juliana Chen's hands are so strong I have seen her crack open a deck of bikes and with a few squeezes to soften 'em up... in just a few seconds... she can backpalm all 52.
